About

Connor
Hatch.

Director and cinematographer.

I founded Hatch Videography and I direct, shoot and grade the work that comes through it. Based in Essex, producing across London, the UK and wherever a shoot takes us.

Connor Hatch, filmmaker

One studio, the whole pipeline.

Plenty of production companies hand you round. A salesperson takes the brief, a shooter turns up on the day having read a document, and an editor cuts it having been at neither.

We keep pre-production, production and post under one roof, and I direct the work myself. You explain it once, to the people who are going to make it.

That is not just tidier. It means the thing you described in the first conversation is still recognisable in the final master, because nothing had to survive a handover.

It also means we can move quickly.

Crewed to the scale of the production, never padded out to justify an invoice.

High quality production, for all sectors.

Boxing gyms before six in the morning. Restaurant launches still going at midnight. Fashion, fitness, property, weddings, short films.

The range is the point. A room you have not filmed in before makes you look properly, and that is usually where the good frames come from.

  • Commercials and brand films.
  • Sport, athletes and performance.
  • Events, launches and openings.
  • Short films and narrative work.
  • Music, fashion and documentary.

Why it matters

Then I put it all together.

The shoot is the visible half. Post-production is the other half, and it runs for far longer than anyone expects.

Choosing which take actually works. Finding the cut that lands. Colour grading every shot so the film holds together instead of lurching between looks. Mixing the sound so it sits right on a phone speaker and a cinema system alike.

That is the part nobody sees and everybody notices.

It's why the work looks like it cost far more than it did.

I film weddings too.

That work lives on its own site, because a couple planning a wedding and a brand planning a campaign are not looking for the same thing. Same studio, same standard.
